Save XLS as MHT - 'on screen' size

I got an xls file as I wanted, I then "Set Print Area" to be A1- I42. That
looks good when I say print page, so when all done, I did Save As -
Model.mht and closed Excel 2003.
When I open Model.mht, IE6 opens , BUT the info does NOT take up the
entire screen. I can only see A1-G23 and there is a white space all around
"the excel info". Maybe 1 inch at top, 2 inches on each side and 1 inch on
the bottom.
I can scroll to the right and down, but why do I have to ?
What is it about Excel save in webpage format that messes things up ?
Why doesn't the data fill the screen as much as it can ?
Ideally I'd "stretch" the "size of the table" to fill the screen , but how
?

Thanks,
Bobb

I cannot replicate your problem with my Excel 2003

I can save as *.mht or *htm with a range of data from A1:L42..note the L, not I

Arial 10.pt font is used.

Visible on screen when opened maximized in IE6 is all 12 columns and 33 rows so
do have to scroll down a tad.

Offhand.........I wouldn't say it is Excel that is messing things up.

Try a smaller font-size and column size in Ezxcel before saving?

I DO have a few WIDE columns on the speadsheet, so I expected to scroll
right to left but,
I just opened the xls file, changed all to Arial 8 - saved as MHT and still
only see A1-G23 except now the "table" is even smaller on the screen and
MORE white space around the Excel table.
In IE, I tried Font size - smallest /largest - made no difference -
table/excel info stay the same size. But it DID make the table smaller on
the screen so there is some relationship between the font and the onscreen
table size.

I have to quit for now, I'll play some more later.
Thanks
