Save replies with original message in Inbox

There is an option in Outlook 2007 that read something along the lines
of "In folders other than Inbox, save replies with original message"

How can I enable this on my Inbox as well?

You can't.

OTOH, once that option is enabled, the only things in your Sent Items folder
are the replies to messages in the Inbox, so, you could manually copy them
over, or just live with them in the Sent Items folder.

That's a good point... so I could just make a rule that runs... say
once a day... that transferrs everything from my Sent Mail to my
Inbox...

No, rules run either manually against all mail in whatever folder you run
them in or automatically when sending or receiving an email against *THAT*
email.

You could always write VBA code that will check what folder you're in and,
if you're in the Inbox, move the Sent Item there, and put that as the action
on a rule (that would have to be applied to every message you send, iow, no
qualifiers in the rule). Should have suggested that originally.

You could also try to set up a rule that moves or copies messages from the
Sent Items folder to the Inbox, but you would have to run that rule manually
-- only rules on incoming messages can run automatically.

OK so this is what I have now: whenever a mail is sent from me, it
moves a copy of it to the Inbox. I don't know how it affects replying
to mail not in the Inbox yet, but this is good for now. The only
problem is it is marked unread, so now I'm working on that...
