Save Photo using wrong program to save

My husband d/l'ed efax and all it's wonderful viewers. Everytime we saved a photo, it saves using the efax program, not the wonderful picture it 9 that I love. no one could open our pics either because of the efax program. I uninstalled the program, or at least I thought I did. Pictures are still being saved with the efax format. I can get the pics open by the right click over the pic and 'open with' command, but i don't want them being saved in our system with a program that's not supposed to even be there! Help! I've spent the better part of 2 days trying to sort this out and i'm past frustrated!!!

Maybe this link will help:

How to Uninstall the eFax MicroViewer
http://webtv.efax.com/help/uninstall_viewer/

Also you need to reset your image associations.
Try this...open an image folder and right click one
of your image files...from the menu, select...Open
With / Choose Program.

Make your choice from the list or Browse to the
correct program if it is not in the list. Once you
make your selection...be sure to check the box
that says: "Always use the selected program to
open this kind of file". (you will need to do this
for each format....jpg, .tif, .gif...etc.)

Some more info:

Also...in WinXP, you can go to...My Computer /
Tools / Folder Options / File Types tab...
