APPCRASH on many installation programs

I'm downloading simple programs from major manufacturers like eFAX, which
they have made for Vista, and everytime i try to run the program, it says,
"eFAX Steup has stopped working". Then forces me to close the program or
search for a solution. Of source they don't come up with a solution and i
have to cancel the setup. Similar things happen for adobe reader 8 and so
forth, it is driving me nuts! This should not be happening with programs
like eFax and Adobe!!

I'm sure i can't be the only one with this problem, can someone PLEASE HELP!!

Try RIGHT clicking on the install program and select "Run As Administrator".

I have tried all those simple options like running like an admin and
different compatibility modes.
