save email messages as word document

How can I save an email message as a Word document? When I choose "save as"
from the file menu, there is no option for .doc documents.
Actually I want to do this auomatically, for example I want to put all
messages in one folder in some folder on my desktop as seperate word
documents. Is this possible? Thanks.
 
Save as .rtf, .htm, or .txt, as appropriate for the message's format. Word can open all of those.

You might want to look at http://www.slipstick.com/addins/housekeeping.htm for tools to save messages as files automatically.
