Save data in a worksheet in fixed length fields...

I have data in a worksheet (Office 2000) which I would like to export in
fixed length format for importing into another application. Is there a way
to use column settings or a wizard to export the file in correct format
rather than exporting and then having to do signficant editing before I can
import the file into the other application?
