Save bios death on A7n8X?

I am a recent victim of a save bios death on a A7N8X Deluxe v 1.04
with 1004 bios. Everything was working for months until I saved bios
setup. No POST. No beep, no video, reset button no longer works but
everything powered on. Any suggestions for due diligence before I RMA?

I have tried to reset CMOS as described on page 21 of manual but to no
avail.

What is a save bios death? Saving the bios settings? Unless you are
updating the bios I didn't know you could hurt the board.

Did you reset the bios using the CLR Bios jumper?

It's been posted many times by other deluxe owners, there appears to
be something flakey about those A7N8X-Delxue boards when changing BIOS
settings and saving them.

I got a non-dlx v2.00 here and have changed and saved the BIOS
settings at least a hundred times in the past 6 months, so far so
good! (fingers crossed!)

I guess I never noticed that; just assumed we were talking about a
flash. I bought the bios savior for my A7N8X DX so I don't worry too
much about blowing the flash.
