Save as, wrong file comes up

I work with lot's of picture's and use Kodak Easy Share to store them.

After I crop and lighten or darken the pictures and click on , save as, my
file where I put all the pictures comes up at top of page.

For some reason the the wrong file comes up.I (it's the file where all
the computer names for the pictures are ) So have to click on the Up arrow
then double click on my file that's on the left of the page, then delete the
computer name for the file and type in my name.
It's just a time saving problem, I have a small Ebay business and have lot's
of pictures to work with.
I have not added any programs or changed anything.

This problem started about 2 weeks ago and I don't know how to fix it.

I have Windows XP.
browser is. Internet Explorer 6.0.
Email, (e-mail address removed),
have broadband cable internet hook up.
My computer is HP pavilion 553x.

I hope I have explained this enough so you can figure out what went wrong.
Will appreciate any help on this as I have lot's of picture's to work with
in the next few days.

The unsophisticated but fast solution:

System Restore to a date before the problem began. Your files stay as they
are now, but software and settings revert to a happier time. It's
reversible.
