"Save As" in Word causing lockup

When trying to save a word document, I select the save as function and when I
try to pull down the drop down menu to save it to a specific folder or
directory it causes Word to lock up and the "Save As" screen says not
responding in the header. I have installed all the latest updates and
security patches. Please advise.

If you have a unavailable mapped drive then that can cause Word to
hang.
