save a Web page on your computer

In the Help and Support Center, the instructions to save a web page on your
computer tells you that you have several options on how to save the web page.
When I attempt to do this, the options listed below are not in my save as
box. I can only save the web page's text. All picture are x'ed out. Can any
body help me?

Do one of the following:
To save all of the files needed to display this page, including graphics,
frames, and style sheets, click Web Page, complete. This option saves each
file in its original format.


To save all of the information needed to display this page in a single
MIME-encoded file, click Web Archive. This option saves a snapshot of the
current Web page. This option is available only if you have installed Outlook
Express 5 or later.

To save just the current HTML page, click Web Page, HTML only. This option
saves the information on the Web page, but it does not save the graphics,
sounds, or other files.

To save just the text from the current Web page, click Text Only. This
option saves the information on the Web page in straight text format.

Well, I have tried to do this several times when I found a page I wanted to
save without haveing to get back on the net. This attempt specifically is a

Not with ur original problem but I would urge u to
check the results when u do a SaveAs. Here r my notes
after struggling with it for 4 yrs:

When Saving as HTML:
Framed pages - Open frame wanted in New Window
b4 Saving

Some pages, like Eckerd order confirm, can NOT be saved
as a Web Page, Archive, HTML, or text in IE. FILE
option when printing is not readable NOR can the page
be emailed from IE either as a Link or Page.

Only Print Screen & Paste in RTF file works

I appreciate the time you spent helping me. I am embarrassed at my
stupidity. I stopped using explorer about three months ago because of some
popups that I couldn't get rid of. I started using SBC Yahoo browser. I
thought it was just a re-skinned version of explorer. It looks just like it.
When I go to explorer, I am able to save the web page fine.

Hi, I have the same exact problem. I did a search and that's how I found
this message. I am using original internet explorer and I know I used to get
the option to "save web page complete" but I don't now and I don't know why.
I'm not able to click on "save" at all, only "save as" which only gives me
the option of html or text. Can someone out there tell me how to fix this
problem. Thanks.
