SATA HDD show up in 'Safely Remove Hardware'?

Hi to all, something strange but appearently I'm not the only one
experiencing it: In XP Pro SP2 and SP3, the internal SATA HDD where XP is
installed onto, shows up in 'Safely Remove Hardware'. That is a definate bug,
since its the internal HDD and its not likely that you are not going to
remove that.

Anyone got a fix for this, and I'm not looking for a way to mess around with
the registry like this fix:

I'm more into a reg fix that can be installed permanently or an update from
MS fixing this error:)

Hope some tech from MS can help on this:)

Thanx in advance:)

With kind regards

JBJ

BTW. my version is Danish XP Pro SP3.

Are you using the SATA drive in AHCI mode?

If so, I guess that it's supposed to be hot swappable. (I'm confused as to
how the drive containing the OS would appear on the list, yet it may.)

It's a feature, not a bug.

Its not a bug, its a feature of your chipset.
You cannot stop / remove the drive upon which win is installed
