I am trying to install Vista on my laptop, however when it gets to the part
to decide which partition to load it onto, it shows no disks. On XP I had to
press the F6 ans install the Seral ATA driver from floppy. I tried clicking
on install device in Vista, but it says it can't find any, even tried putting
it on a CD as it looked like it didn't even access the usb floppy. Any help
would be appreciated.

Hello,

Create a duplicate of you XP/Win2K3 driver disk, but delete the
textsetup.oem file and see if that works.

It did for me.
