Hello there every one,
I had XP installed just fine on a 50 gig partion on my 250 gig maxtor sata
drive. Everything was going good until I decided to clean things up. I was
going to do a clean install on the same partion that the old install was on.
I have the correct drivers for the motherboard. it is using Via chipset
NorthBridge VIA PM880 and SouthBridge VT8237 and a Intel Celeron D processor
2.9 gig. I tried installing from the original XP cd and using the option to
reformat the partion that the old install was on. I use the floppy disk that
I built for the sata drivers and it all seems to run good.......Until it goes
to reboot and tells you to take out the floppy, it trys to reboot then hangs
on the welcome screen. The welcome screen only comes up half brightness.
Any ideas? If you need any more info for my system let me know.

Thanks,
Liberty

Hello, reboot pc as its starting hit f8, choose safe mode, if that
boots into windows ok then just sounds like your video drivers need to
be loaded, you can use the disk that came with it or download the
latest from the manufacturers website. if it doesnt run in safe mode
either then run xp recovery. could be hardware issues..

Flamer.
