SATA Drive Disappears

System:
ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe
w / nforce4
and SI 1134 Raid controller
Maxtor SATA II 250 gb (Windows XP Pro SP2)
Maxtor Diamond 9 IDE 60 GB (Vista RC2 5744)

Dual boot and Vista works nicely, my issue is that if my PC goes to sleep or
some period of inactivity, my SATA drive disappears completely from view.
The only way to get it back is to HARD boot the PC.

Is this some sort of sock thief running amok - making drives disappear?
I've updated the nvidia chipset and SI drivers to latest Vista builds but
still no fix.

I have the same board, but 250GB WD drives, and have not seen this. All of my drives are on the
NForce controller, though.

Can you send me (or post here) a screenshot of Disk Management and Device
Manager before and after the drive disappearance?

I have just installed a Sata 2 drive to my system. 160gb Maxtor Diamond10

i'm running RC1 on an PATA drive. When I addeed the new drive, it
disappeared as soon as the drive was formatted. Occasionally it reappears
for a few seconds only to vanish again.

Why won't it stay?

AMD 64 3000+
939 Dual VSTA MB
1GB Ram
Vista RC1
