I just set up my new computer. It has Windows 2000 and was
running just fine for 2 days. Yesterday I tried turning
the computer on and it kept getting close to running
before rebooting itself. I suspect the sasser worm and
have read the remedy to correct it. But if I can't get to
the opening screen I can't take corrective measures. Is
there another way to bypass this problem?

Hi,

To remove the Sasser worm follow the steps below.

Connect to the internet
When you get the shutdown screen click on start run and in the run box type in shutdown /a and click on okay. This will abort the shutdown process.
Then go to www.microsoft.com/sasse
Download the removal tool and install patch MS04-01
