and one of the most prevalent ways for that particular worm to continue to
infect peoples system is by attaching itself to newsgroup messages that are
sent containing HTML code...such as your message telling us about it....Tsk
Tsk Will you ever set your software up to work correctly???

You may have heard about a new worm circulating rapidly on the internet, the
Sasser Worm. Here's a good site to check:

to see if you have the worm (takes about 15 seconds to check), steps to take
to preclude getting it, and actions to take if you have it.

Wrong...

That particular worm spreads by scanning randomly selected
IP addresses for vulnerable systems -- not by attaching itself
to newsgroup or e-mail messages.

Hello Bob,

I think you understood quite well what the purpose of my message was, but
as your stance is to protect the dangerous actions of your
friend.......Would you like to make a substantial wager and provide
indemnity to me when I infect your system?, or do you prefer to support
someone who has no idea how to work most things "Internet", and if you wish
to argue that point as well, I have quite a tidy catalogue of his mistakes
and stupid remarks that will demonstrate again he has no idea at
all...Outlook Settings, Web Site crashing and TRACERT's, 52 NEWS GROUPS
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah OK Bob

Hi John,

My response was not intended to defend anyone.
And it was not intended as a personal attack
against you. Please don't take it that way.

I was merely pointing out that the statement
you made regarding the worm was not correct
(based on information I read on several AV
web sites).

I've posted inaccurate information myself in
the past (we all do -- we're only human), and
I was grateful when someone took the time to
correct me and educate me.

Hello Bob,

I am sorry that you reacted that way and apparently in the belief that I
thought you were attacking me...why would I think that, or more to the
point, why would YOU think that?

With regard to whether the info was incorrect or not, you have not replied
to the challenge regarding that particular worm!!!....would you like to
place a large bet on it and give me indemnity? You were fast enough to
publickly tell me I was wrong, you do not seem so willing to put your money
on the line. I would need a refresher to do it now, my youngest could do it
in just a few minutes. (He travels the world sorting those sort of problems
out for a very large Internet security company, and gets paid an extremely
large amount of money to do it)

By the way, I am not saying that the website's you went to, in order that
you could check what I said, are wrong, I am saying that it can be attached
to an e-mail or newsgroup message that contains HTML text (The sort that
PAPAJOHN continues to send out) and delivered to your system...the simple
act of opening that e-mail or message would be enough to cause it to
execute...and that's you infected Bob or perhaps thats your system sending
out private data...either way its moderately easy to do. But while I think
on this why else would you go to those lengths visiting a number of
website's I wonder?? Now what was it you were saying about attacking
someone Hmmm??

The Totally irresponsible way the man who calls himself PAPAJOHN (some
rather vain attempt at sounding friendly) sends out messages in the wrong
format...HE PUTS EVERY ONE AT RISK by doing it, if they have not taken
precautions against his very stupid behavior. His own demonstratabl lack of
knowledge on matters to do with the Internet is more than enough good cause
for having something done about him...he even tried to convince me once
that he was safe because he sits behind a router....Its Laughable

It would not be so bad, but he then tried to convince people he knew what
he was talking about by claiming that he was a regular poster on 52
separate newsgroups and a number of website based forums...He was
attempting to demonstrate that he was right and I was wrong on some really
silly small point, you remember the result of a search I did of every
newsgroup in the world don't you??? These are things I can prove.

You can be assured of one thing. Every time he posts a message in the
accepted WRONG format I will publicly point it out. He, like you, want to
show how acceptable you are to Microsoft by displaying the fact that you
are a "Most Valued Proffesional" In my book proffesional means you know
what you are talking about, would you not agree with that? If you do, why
is PAPAJOHN sending out messages over the medium he used to get that MVP
recognition that are both against the acceptable use policy of the USENET
and are (Surely he knows this little thing) capable of spreading a virus
around the world in just a few minutes.
