SASSER Worm

I believe that I have been SASSERed and for a time my XP
Pro laptop would freeze up and need to be rebooted. Then
when trying to reboot it would display two error messages
and then hang never to see windows again. I had to
reinstall the OS in a new partition and it works for the
most part now but no ICONS appear on my new start page. I
guess I will save off any of the old data I can salvage
and then reformat and reload ALL of the software that I
had originally had. Does anyone out there have a better
solution? If so please email me at (e-mail address removed).
