True enough. I started with various ATI cards beginning with the Mach 8 up
through all of their 2D accelerators. Then I tried their Rage series of 3D
cards and they were a huge disappointment, so I switched to 3DFX and owned
the Voodoo 1, 2 and 3 cards. They were great in their time and always had
superb drivers. Then I switched to Nvidia and bought a Geforce 3 Classic
which was also a great card. I didn't bother upgrading to the GF4 Ti series
of cards because the performance increase just wasn't there relative to the
GF 3. Then I read about the ATI 9700 pro and started thinking ATI again.
Reviews on the Geforce FX cards seemed to be mixed. A couple of months ago
I bought a 9800 non pro and discovered that it would overclock to pro
speeds. Eventually I flashed the bios and made it a pro. Anyway, I'm very
happy now and back where I started with ATI.
