San Disk Micro U3 Drive is not ejecting properly

When choosing to safely remove hardware in windows explorer or choosing eject
via U3 launchpad it informs me it is safe to remove but the light does not go
out. Then when I reconnect it it says it was not safely removed if it even
lets me reconnect it.

Under Vista it's normal behaviour that the light stay on
after safe removal, no idea why they changed this.
But I don't know why the launchpad says "it was not safely
removed". Maybe an update to the latest version helps.

I am using the latest version of launchpad. It only does it when I pull it
out then put my second of the same brand in. I think it gets confused when I
try to use two for some reason. But thank for letting me know about the
light, from my under standing when the light went out the drive had stopped,
because there was no longer any communication going to it to keep the light
lit???
