comctl32.dll version 5.82 (557,056 bytes) in c:\windows\system32 and
comctl32.dll version 6.0 (921,600 bytes) i
c:\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.windows.common-controls_6595b64144ccf1df_6.0.10.0_x-ww_f7fb5805

It depends. It could be that some of your software depends upon a hidden
file. Programmers do that sometimes. In order to ensure you pay and register
your shareware software, we all get up to some strange tricks. One of mine
was putting the password into wave.bmp - one of Windows wallpaper files.
