I went into safemode for the first time in so many years, but the mouse does
not work in that mode. The pointer will not move no matter how much I move
my mouse. As a result nothing can be done. Is there anything I can do about
it?
TIA

Do you have a USB mouse?
Does your computer have a PS2 mouse port?
If so, try using a PS2-style mouse or use a USB-to-PS2 adapter and plug
your mouse into the PS2 port.

Wireless mouse? Then of course it won't work in Safe Mode because the
drivers aren't loaded. Try a plain vanilla USB mouse or even a ps/2 mouse
if you have ps/2 connectors.

Hi Ben,

That can be quite frustrating. I experience it sometimes
troubleshooting computers.

But the fact is that everything can be done with the keyboard, it's just
that some of the steps to get there may be a lot longer. Do a search
for keyboard shortcuts. Here's one to get you started:

You can put a shortcut to the web page on your Desktop or better to copy
and paste the data into a Notepad file and keep it on your Desktop (in
case you don't have internet). Then you have immediate access if needed.

A wireless mouse usually connects to either a PS/2 or USB port and
should / would show up as a plain vanilla USB mouse.

Sorry for the piggybacked post but I don't see the original post. To the OP,
what are you trying to do in safe mode? There aren't too many tasks that
"require" a mouse. You can use your keyboard to do most tasks.
