Safemode

I have a windows xp sp2 machine that keeps booting into safemode. no one
knows a local account/password for it so I cant login. I tried F8 to have
it boot normally or to safemode with networking and that did not work. I
tried a repair install and now I am stuck in a loop where the machine
reboots and then tells me it can not finish the install in safemode. any
one have any ideas?

what you might want to try
is to boot to the "recovery console:
with your windows cd.

at the c prompt run:

chkdsk

fixboot

fixmbr

"exit" and reboot again without
the cd
