Safely Remove Hardware

Hello,

Whenever I plugin a removeable device like my camera
or USB-IrDA, a icon shows up in the system tray (system
notification area). I was wondering if there is any way of
stopping this icon from showing up, because it does
nothing.

No. Hide it. Right-click the taskbar, choose CUSTOMIZE.

It actually serves a purpose.
