I found some software that will remove it, and the hardware still works, so
there has to be a registry key somewhere that will remove it. I did run a
registry checker to see what key the software changes, it changes one key,
but when you try to change that key yourself, it automatically changes back
This icon is needed for any "drive" type devices. You must "flush" the info
to the drive, so you do not loose it, before you remove it. Used for most USB
drive and laptops with "hot-swap" drive bays.
How come laptops and some desktops dont show the safely remove hardware icon
with internal media card reader drives? Ive seen desktops that the icon never
shows up but the media card readers work just fine. My laptop has a media
card reader built in and it never shows the safely remove hardware icon
