I need to start xp in safe mode. I have printed the
instructions and they do not actually match what it says
on the screen. For instance it says : Please select the
operating system. Perhaps I am missing something vital
here as I am not given that option. Can anybody help?

In Windows go to Start, Run, type MSCONFIG (OK) and click
on "Diagnostic Startup" . . .
Good Luck,
MGGP

Hi Susie,

Start/run msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab. Enable the /safeboot option.
Reverse the steps later to reboot normally.

Stupid me - that's wrong, don't do it. Do what Nutcase
says . . . sorry ! MGGP
