Safe Mode

Got a dumb question, I'm running XP pro and I'm trying to start in safe
mode. I've followed the instructions in the help file, but in the restart
mode, the option "When you see the message please select the operating
system to start, press F8" never appears. What am I doing wrong?

Repeatedly tap the F8 key as the computer is starting up instead of
waiting for any message. This should work and will get you to the right
menu. Navigate using your Up arrow key; the mouse will not work here.

That's correct. Start hitting the F8 key right after the bios messages.

Or even before, if you have 'quick boot' enabled in the BIOS B^)
