safe mode

I have windows xp [home]. I need to start up in safe mode,i've been trying
the F8 key.but haven't had any luck. How do I do it. [ start up in safe mode ]

Some machines use F8 to get into the BIOS. This makes it difficult to use
the F8 key to boot into the Windows Safe Mode. Instead of trying to hit the
F8 key just right you can make some settings with the System Configuration
Utility (msconfig.exe).

Hi Ed,

Go to Start/Run/Msconfig. Boot.Ini and check off /SafeBoot. Apply/Ok,
reboot.
