Safe Mode

I received a Windows automatic update last week. It rebooted the system and
the system came up in safe mode. I rebooted again and got safe mode. I can
use the F8 button to display all of the boot options, but every one that I
tried it came up in safe mode. Has anyone run into this or have any ideas
how to fix the problem?

Thanks,

Leo

I had similar prob. earlier this week. what worked for me was putting the
windows OS disk. I have an external cd drive which I can power up seperate
from my PC. So I powered up my PC 1st then my cd drive. When the PC came on
the screen ask if I wanted to boot from disc, (yes), options are complete
install or repair(?) I choose complete then the next screen asked me again
and that time I choose repair(?).
It's working now BUT, I have 33 missing files and other things- but I
suspect that since I erased many things that I didn't know what they were-
that they are the missing files!
GOOD LUCK---- and FYI I'm not a computer geek, just someone who likes to
take things apart and TRY to put them back together again--- with lots of
prayer after their in pieces!

In Safe Mode, go to the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, click "Show
Updates", then scroll down and remove the recent updates. Restart, and
if you can get into Windows, you might try the updates again.. it's
possible one was corrupted during the download and it'll install
correctly if downloaded again.
