safe mode

my desktop runs xp and it is currently in safe mode but
when i try to change the mode using the F8 key at startup
and choose normal mode nothing happens. I also do not
currently have system restore enabled and cant enable it
due to being in safe mode

You may have it set to run in safe mode through settings in msconfig.exe.
Run that from the Start, Run window and see what you can figure out.

Goto Start->Run-> type in msconfig

goto the boot.ini tab and see if safe boot is checked
if yes uncheck it.


System restore can be enabled in safe mode
