The Russians were good engineers. I remember in the 60s their 8mm and 16mm cine cameras they were good as were their lenses. So making cars is not beyond them.

The Russians can make good stuff, agreed. Yuri Gagarin will agree with this.

Trouble is, that Communist ideal did rather set budgets, hence the Trabant and Chernobyl.

Perhaps their culture also confused our Eastern friends druing WW2 where initially they murdered Polish peeps, then had a change of view and started trying to fight alongside them.

The Polish, unsurprisingly, were uninmpressed.

Still, now the Russkies have been unshackled from the Communist yoke they are free to enjoy all those Western delights. Like making supercars, organised crime, drug dealing, pimping, drugs, alcohol, gambling and reading the Beano every Tuesday.

My my, I am political tonight, lol
