Runtime Error!

I cannot start my IE any more and this is the error message I'm getting:

"Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplorer.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I have tried to download a version of IE from Microsoft's web page but when
trying to install I got a message that a newer version was already installed.

Any suggestions?

You have most likely spyware infection, which prevents IE to start. First go
to control panel -> internet options -> advanced and unselect "enable
third-party browser extensions". Note that some spyware sets restrictions so
that you might not be able to access IE options. Anyway, get several spyware
scanners and clean your computer.
