runtime error & DLL

programs are giving me runtime errors and since a virus
was suspected i had to shut off system restore to run
anti-virus. then with still a problem......i get a new
error CAG. EXE-Bad Image the application or DLL
C:\microsoft shared\art gallery\mcansi.dll is not valid
windows image. (check against installation disk)
This is not the 1st DLL error message and I fear a
deltion of a vital file has occured. Which disk are they
refering to? and whats the DLL thing about. How do I
begin to repair my system. Tim

Check your system for "hijackware":

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
