On a new Windows XP Professional machine with IE 7.0, After closing the
Windows Explorer getting the Runtime error. "Visual C++ Runtime Error.
C:\Program Files\explorer.exe. Then when click ok it closes some of the
running applications. I uninstalled IE 7.0 but no luck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance.

Sounds like spyware since explorer.exe should be located in c:\windows for
starters.
So a few spyware / virus scans would probably be your best starting point.

I tried the spyware scaning and no luck..

If you are familiar with the registry, then try checking the value of this
key

"Shell" at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

It should be "Explorer.exe"
