Running Virtual Server 2005 R2 on Windows Vista

I am trying to get Virtual Server 2005 R2 working with Windows Vista Ultimate
as the host.

I have IIS installed wih all of the IIS6 features enabled. When I hit the
Virtual Server web site I get an error related to anonymous access.

Once i fixed this, I am now getting a mime type error for
application/x-msdownload, I can not get passed this even though the mime type
is defined and present.

How can I get Virtual Server running on my new laptop that has Windows Vista
pre-loaded? I like the OS and don't want to leave just because I can not get
this software working.

Thanks,

Jason

Visit connect.microsoft.com and take part in the SP1 trial. I've been
runing VS2005 R2 SP1 on Vista x64 since November. I didn't have the
MIME error, but my own installation notes say that I needed to:

Configure IIS
ALL IIS\Web Management Tools\IIS6 Management Compatibility
ALL IIS\World Wide Web Services

I have UAC disabled (of course!).

The only issue I get with VS2005 R2 SP1 on Vista x64 is if the
comptuer sleeps. Upon wake-up, if I try to start a VM I get a BSOD
with VMM.SYS. But if there's no "sleep" then I can start and stop VMs
all day long.

I have 4GB RAM on Vista x64, and can happily set up a "virtual LAN"
with W2K3 DC, XP, and SharePoint 2007. e.g. two virtual servers and
one virtual client.

Hope this helps.
