Running Total without Updating too Many Cells

I guess A2 is like an accumulation of what was and is typed into A1.
read about accumulations regarding macros, a while ago, but I have n
idea how to create one. (i am a novice of all novices) I dont even kno
where to start....
does my situation make sense, or should i go into even greater detai
of what i am trying to create

Obviously there's a difference between

a running total of the numbers that have been typed into A1
and

A2 is like an accumulation of what was and is typed into A1

Try

Range("A2") = Range("A2") & "+" & Target
Range("A3") = "=" & Range("A2")
End Sub
