Hi!
I need some help. My win2000 is running slow!
I have defraged, etc. every diagnostic program I can. It
helps but when I check my Task Manager window, the Phys
memory is 130296K and the available is 3600K to 8000K. I
was told by my internet provider that I should be approx
70% of the Total memory,
Can anyone help?
How do I increase the available memory,
can I stop excess programs from starting and slowing
things down?

Thanks

What are the settings for you page file? Check by:

1. In Control Panel, double-click System.

2. Click the Advanced tab.

3. Click Performance options.

4. Click Change under Virtual Memory.

5. A rule of thumb is to set the Initial size equal to 1.5 times the amount
of system ram, and the Maximum to 2 times ram.

The second option is to add physical memory to your system. Refer to the
documentation you received with the computer for the proper type to get.
