running too hot?

It takes more than a small test of two samples to prove that one HDD
runs hotter than the other. One would have to sample a thousand or so
to prove conclusive that Seagate runs hotter than Samsung.

Actually no. 10 or so would be a small, but sufficient sample.
HDDs do not have large variations.
1.2c is not
reason enough to recommend one over the other anyway, and I've seen
you post enough in here to know you are biased towards Samsung. You're
just a Samsung fanboi.

I have personal observations that Maxtors run very hot under load,
unless cooled very well. Samsungs do not. I have currently about 50
Maxtor disks and 5 Samsung disks. Idle power consumption might be
comparable but is irrlevant in most situations when cooling is the
issue.

Side note: The nearline-storage Maxtors run cooler for some reason.

Statistically it depends on the size of the difference and the amount of
variance. If the difference is large enough to make any practical
difference in the real world a sample of 10 should show it with adequate
confidence.

No it doesnt with something as basic as that particular question,
and it wasnt just 'a small test of two samples' anyway.

I only suggested that particular test if you wanted
to prove for yourself that what I said, 'some like the
seagates tend to run hotter than say the samsungs'

The storagereview data clearly proves what I said.

You get to like that or lump it or desperately
attempt to bullshit your way out of your predicament
and fool absolutely no one at all, as always.

Wrong, as always. You dont need a sample of a
thousand or so for those charts that storagereview
produced you pathetic excuse for a bullshit artist.

Pity I didnt even do that, you pathetic excuse for a bullshit artist.
and I've seen you post enough in here to know you are biased towards Samsung.

I JUST said that I prefer Samsung drives for their quietness,
you cant even use the AAM on modern Seagate drives, and
that I choose to run with no case fans at all, again for the
quietness, so it does indeed matter that samsungs do tend
to run cooler than seagates.
You're just a Samsung fanboi.

You're just a pathetic excuse for a bullshit artist that couldnt bullshit
its way out of a wet paper bag and cant even manage a viable troll.
