My outlook 2002 (xp) works wonderfully. I have set up another user account on
the same laptop for my wife but outlook will not open.
'failed to register a vb script dll. Re install or run regsvr32.exe
vbscript.dll to self register

Oliver,

thank you for the links - it has obviously worked for them but I am still a
little confused as to how they did it. It involved remaming of vbscript files
etc. Can you (or Mitch or Milly) give fuller more detailed instructions as to
how they solved this problem.
Many thanks
Graham

Dear Graham,

everything that you will need is in the posting of Milly Staples [MVP
Outlook]

1st Step: "Start->Run-> regsvr32 vbscript.dll ->Enter"

I did a rename the "vbscript.dll"

so search for vbscript.dll and change the name to "vbscript_old.dll"
....then ran detect and repair in Word.
Then I went to file/folder
C:\Docoments and settings\user\Application data\Microsoft\1033 (your language)
and rename to old like the vbsript.dll
This solved the problem

Create a new Profile.

How to create a new Outlook 2003 profile:
