Running Vista Ultimate, loaded Office 2003. Did software update then tried to
open Outlook and received the following message

Run Regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll to self register
Unable to register or load DLL because the path to the folder where DLL
resides is no longer the maximum characters allowed by the Open File
functionused by outlook128 characters.

Thanks

If you use then RegSvr32 command line in Command Prompt window what happens?

I've got the same problem. When I run regsvr32 it says DllRegisterServer in
vbscript.dll succeeded.

But then I load Outlook, the problem remains.

I've now tried setting up another user account in WinXP, and that seems to
work fine, which suggests that the problem is based in the Application Data
folder in my user account or the Registry.

I would really rather not have to jack in my usual user account, so is there
anything I can do in either said folder or Regedit that will allow me to fix
the problem?
