"Running Processes" which are needed?

After ~ a year's (new PC) use, my Task Mgr now generally
shows 20+ processes running at any given time. I'd like
to identify, at least, the "absolutely neccesary"
processes and thereby discover those that are "cyber
junk" not done away with by my spyware destroyers. Is
there a list of most often booted up processes that will
resemble those in Task Manager? (MSconfig doesn't seem
to be useful for this.)
