Running on dual processors?

Can anyone tell me for sure if Windows XP (or any other
recent Windows OS after NT4.0 for that matter) will take
advantage of a motherboard set up with dual processors?

We have an older machine that is still useful to us, set
up with two Intel 450mhz PII processors. Used to be only
NT could take advantage of both, and win98 could not.
Looking to keep the machine but upgrade to a more current
windows OS (NT is not needed for the machine anymore).

Windows 2000 or XP Pro (Not Home) can use dual CPUs

Hope this helps

XP Pro will do so, XP Home will not. For more than two you need one of
the Server systems. BTW a Hyperthreaded CPU, effectively two 'virtual'
CPUs does not count as dual for this purpose, and a Home system can use
them
