Running multiple instances of an application in the same XP process.

Is it possible to run multiple instances of an application (like XP) in the same XP process

I have an end-user that believes they are running multiple instances of IE within the same XP process. Is this possible? If so, how do I configure this option (in IE? in XP?)

The end-user believes that there is some configuration setting in XP that makes XP run multiple instances of an application (like IE) run within the same XP process

Is this configuration possible

Jim;

It depends on the application. You can run multiple instances of IE.
Open IE any number of times, look in Task Manager for iexplorer.exe
to see for yourself.

You don't configure anything, it depends on each application.
Try it with Notepad.

However, with IE you may need this set.
Right click Internet Explorer icon | Properties | Advanced tab |
Uncheck: Reuse windows for launching shortcuts |
Apply | OK
