Running Defrag

Howdy,

How can I give rights to a user to run defrag without giving admin rights.

Domain setup running XP pro environmant currently running SP2 and soon SP3.

You can't. Under normal conditions, that is.

"Although any user can gain access to the Disk Defragmenter tool, the
ability to analyze or defragment a volume requires administrator privileges."

You can do a runas as mentioned on one of the KBs above. Or if you don't
want to expose the admin account to the user, create a wrapper for runas to
execute the defragmentation. Tools like AutoIT should be able to accomplish
this "wrapping" task.
