A
arenci
Each time I try to run this game I get an Access Denied
dialog box telling me to log in with administrative
privileges. But I did log in as the administrator, and
there's only one account anyway. The game's Support told
me that this is most certainly a Windows XP issue, and
had suggested me things to try, which I did to no avail.
The game's path/location is- C:\Documents and
Settings\arenci\Start Menu\Programs\Codemasters.
You see, long before I installed this game, there used
to be two user accounts. We changed that to just one, and
named it 'arenci', but without me knowing, my partner
changed the name a few days later. I'm not sure if the
settings in the 'arenci' account were kept, but we have
been using the name that my partner replaced 'arenci'
with.
At the time, we were using a McAfee Privacy program that
came installed with the computer when I bought it. When
it expired, I installed a McAfee Internet Security
program. The program never asked for an administrator's
name during installation, but it seemed to have
recognized the user name 'arenci', for it had registered
it as it's administrator. It's path/location is-
C:\Documents and Settings\arenci\Desktop. However though,
it uses the current user name's password.
Could this have affected the game in the same way when I
installed it, considering their path/locations? On that
note, What is the significance of the 'arenci' after
the 'Documents and Settings'in the path/location cause
some programs tend to be stored in it's path/location
like the two aforementioned programs? Is it something
that can be modified as simple as changing/modifying user
accounts in Windows XP?
Don't get me wrong, but I'm no computer geek. I just
saw this really cheap game, and all I wanted is to play
something in my computer. I never thought I would have to
go through all this. But I may never know, this maybe
something that has to do with my computer and it's
settings, and not the game at all. That's why I'm asking
you people out there. Microsoft... anybody...
Thanks!
