Find the .exe file for the game.
Right click and select properties.
Look on the Compatability tab.
Set compatability mode to Windows 95
This may not work. It depends on how the game was written and what it is
trying to access.
Perhaps you could tell us the name of the game, for a more specific answer.
Try compatability mode, though some just will not run in XP. Start |
Help and Support. In the search box type compatibility mode. Click on
the first search result "Getting older programs to run on Windows XP".
Install it - it may work without further effort. If not, as others have
suggested try the compatibility mode feature. You might also check with the
game vendor for patches or known compatibility issues and possible
workarounds.

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.
Sometimes you just need the appropriate game CD in the CD-ROM drive, when
running it.
