Running a PowerPoint Slide Show

If I send a .pps file to my customers do they need to have PowerPoint or a
PowerPoint viewer in order for it to run automatically?

In brief
If you send a pps file see can see it ,if they have PowerPoint or a
PowerPoint viewer .You also can package it to CD then the pps can auto run
in their computer without ppt or ppt viewer.
Because when you package the ppt the viewer is embed to the CD automatically
