I followed the thread on the same subject and it sounds like my problem as
well. However, after trying regsvr32 /u lmpgspl.ax, I received an error
message:

The modules "lmpgspl.ax" was loaded but the call to DllUnregisterServer
failed with error code 0x80070005.

The problem on my machine occurs when processing thumbnails in Windows Media
Player (videos).

Any help?

reinstall it with 'regsvr32 lmpgspl.ax' then uninstall it.
 
Are you using an elevated command prompt? Right click cmd.exe and pick Run
as administrator.
