This symptom appears more and more common. In my case running Vista Business
the problem started when uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2007 (for
Windows Vsita). After that the error message quoted in the subject appears
whenever I would like to access the Control Panel or any related
applications. Would there be a solution?

Menwhile I have crosschecked the event log and found out that the trouble
would appear to have to to with ntdll.dll... Any idea how to go further than
that?

Having learnt from other posts, please find blow the complete error log

Norton stabbed you in the back didn't it.

If you have the install CD/DVD for Vista, you could boot off the CD/DVD and
try the Repair option.

You could do an upgrade over the top of the existing O/S with the install
CD/DVD as well. The upgrade over the top of the existing O/S will install
the O/S again, but it will leave your programs and data as is and intact.
Either approach could correct the problems for you.

Your other option is if you have a retail version of Vista and it's still
within the 180 days since the activation, then you can call MS for free
support.

Thanks for your advise, I am afraid it was Norton. Upgrade from DVD is the
firstthing I have done, but delivered no result. Regarding the call to MS I
am Active Pack subscriber, and actually I don't know if I would be eligible.
