a housecall by trendmicro revealed that they system is infected with troj
hekker.a and is infecting as rundll.32.exe and this could not be repaired by
norton or trend micro. avg didnot even recognise it.
the other copies of the virus-- background.exe and winsys2.jpg could be
deleted.
from the hklm/----/run key the entry load profile =path to rundll.32.exe
has been deleted.
after that the file rundll.32.exe has been deleted and is sitting in my
recycle bin.
questions:
1. is it safe to delete it completely?
2. is it a system file affecting the performance of some programs? or is it
only the virus?
3. if i have to restore it using the msconfig--expand file--where in the
i386 do i find it?( it asks for only .cab files and a search shows that it
is present in i386 folder as rundll.32.ex_ an exe file.)
tia.
