Run Word in XP ?

I just built new computer with Win XP. I installed Office 97(only Word,
Excel, & Office Tools). Could hardly open programs, all sorts of problems.

Then I uninstalled 97 and installed Office 2000 - same three selections.
Was marginally better but you could tell it still was not right. Then
downloaded the three recommended patches to run in XP. This program is now
better, still not right. just for example, when I use the space bar it
moves letter by letter. Will not scroll left or right quickly. Other minor
annoyances where you can tell this is not a great installation.

Any one else run into these problems? Any suggestions?

Ron, even if you installed the patches, you still have to find the worm.
That's where your virus software comes in.
Also, are you running Norton, or MacAfee?

WOW - that would explain it all. Yes, I run Norton NAV but turned it off a
lot recently due to downloads and
installs - so far can't find any worms - shows clean in Ad-aware, Spybot,
and Norton Anti Virus - got some other way to check?
